Senior Network Engineer
Full Time | Hybrid | West London
Initial 6 Month Contract – Perm Thereafter
£550 – £650 per day Inside IR35

Crone Corkill are partnered with a West London based Hedge Fund as they look to add a Senior Network Engineer to the business on an initial 6 month contract, with the view to convert to perm thereafter.
Working as part of a global team, you’ll be their first UK based Network hire, collaborating with other Engineers and teams in EMEA, APAC and the US. You’ll be required to provide your expertise with BGP, switches & routers, circuits, racking & stacking, cabling, Cloud Networking and more as you help to push and develop their networks globally. There’s also lots of interesting projects on the horizon focusing on migrations, office moves and office builds, so it’s a great time to be joining a rapidly growing business.
Please note that it is an essential requirement to have relevant experience working within the Hedge Fund space or similar for this role. If you do not have this experience, you’re unlikely to be considered.
What will you do as a Senior Network Engineer?
- Manage office networks comprised of Cisco & Palo Alto firewalls, IOS routers and switches
- Manage firewall devices from implementation to firewall rules, IPS rules, VPNs, NAT and a variety of routing protocols
- Provide a deep understanding of BGPs (Border Gateway Protocols)
- Manage the daily ops of the global Network Infrastructures. This includes changes, upgrades, re-engineering and new designs
- Manage networking components in Azure, AWS and other Cloud environments
- Deploy and manage remote user networks connected by VPN; manage and maintain DNS load balancing and global DNS configurations; manage telecom circuits & vendors; and manage the day to day operations of Data Centres and Comms Room – rack & stack, power connections, premise wiring and cabling neatly
- Automate MACDs (Moves-Adds-Changes-Deletions) across the network device portfolio as required
- Troubleshoot and diagnose connectivity issues/problems quickly
- Work independently as well as collaborate with the Network team and wider IT function within the business
- Work as a key figure with Cisco to Palo Alto migrations, Data Centre migrations, Load Balancer migrations, office moves, office builds, storage replication and more
What skills do you need to be a Senior Network Engineer?
- Cisco firewalls: ASA, Firepower, FMC
- Palo Alto firewalls & Panorama
- Cisco routing & switching
- Expertise in routing protocols – BGP, OSPF, EIGRP etc
- F5 Load Balancer, Global DNS
- Cisco/Meraki wireless
- AWS/Azure/Cloud networking
- Cisco ACI with VMM integration (advantageous)
- Network automation tools (advantageous)
- Wireshark & packet analysis (advantageous)
